The Chairman Industrial Affairs is a special representative within the meaning of Section 30 of the German Civil Code (BGB). The scope of business of the Chairman Industrial Affairs is the trade union and collective bargaining activities of VC. In cooperation with the Executive Board, the Chairman Industrial Affairs is responsible in particular for:

• the trade union activities of the VC.
• the observance of the assignment of tasks in the collective bargaining area of the VC in accordance with the guideline on collective bargaining in the VC.
• conducting top-level talks with employers and associations as assigned by the respective bargaining commission with the participation of the spokesperson, or a representative appointed by the bargaining commission.
• The presentation of the VC collective bargaining positions to the public.
