Regarding the current developments concerning the novel coronavirus 2019-nCoV we would like to draw your attention to the following available information platforms and material:

Take off and landing trial operations for EDDF (Feb-Mar 2020)

On 03 Feb 2020 the German ANSP DFS has started its two-month trial operation to optimise the use of the runway system at Frankfurt (EDDF). The operation includes take-offs and landings from RWY 25L and 25C in a 'mixed mode', with a correspondingly staggered approach separation. Trial operations are carried out on a daily basis and can be expected between 06:30 and 22:00 lcl, ending on 25 Mar 2020. Details on changes to procedures are provided in the corresponding DFS Info letter.

Aviation united against human trafficking

About 800.000 people per year are victims of human trafficking worldwide and aviation is increasingly used for this. Its unique nature presents many opportunities to identify and deal with human trafficking, especially as passengers are under observation during the entire process. In their position paper, IFALPA provides background information, draws the connection to aviation, and concludes with measures that should be taken to help combat human trafficking.

In support of IFALPAs approach, VC has established a task force dealing with combatting human trafficking. We encourage all members to support the combat against human trafficking and provide further information on our homepage (in German only).
