Ryanair leaves pilots in the dark about jobs

VC calls on employer to implement negotiation results

For almost three weeks now, Ryanair Group pilots based in Germany have been waiting for the employer to confirm that their career prospects remain valid. It has been so long since they reached an agreement with the employer and essentially delivered what the Ryanair subsidiary Malta Air had demanded for Germany.

The employer had previously built up pressure with the announcement that individual bases in Germany would be closed down and staff would be laid off at all other bases. Vereinigung Cockpit was blamed by Malta Air for their threatened consequences: We had not accepted his package of demands. Although this reason has long since disappeared due to the binding agreement reached three weeks ago, Malta Air is maintaining the pressure and the burden on the pilots: they must continue to fear for their bases and their future.

Since 25 July, there has been nothing but silence in response to numerous requests from Vereinigung Cockpit.

"We continue to see the notorious behaviour of high pressure on employees and unreliability in the implementation of negotiation results from the Ryanair management," comments Markus Wahl, President of Vereinigung Cockpit. "We therefore call on Ryanair to finally establish clarity and security for their employees. They deserve it!"
